A shortage of pre-mix fuel has hit some fishing communities including Sekondi-Takoradi, Shama and Axim all in the Western Region, affecting fishing activities.

According to Ghananewsaid.com’s Western Regional Correspondent, Marie Aziz Tunde, it has gotten to a point where fishermen are now compelled to improvise by buying regular petrol and mixing it with engine oil to power outboard motors for fishing expeditions.

This imposes additional cost far more than the price of pre-mix fuel.
