Two persons are in the grips of the police in the Ashanti region after they reportedly pelted stones at the convoy of President John Dramani Mahama during his accounting to the people’s tour in the region which begun yesterday.
The suspects were among several protesters on the streets of Ejisu and adjoining communities where the president had gone to inspect some ongoing developmental projects as part of his accounting to the people tour.
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ejisu, Gloria Huze was reported to have sustained minor injuries from the stone attacks while ther vehicle in which she was traveling on also had some dents from the stones.
Members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been fingered for the alleged attack in view of earlier threats to embark on a demonstration.
Meanwhile one of the officials of the NPP in the Ejisu constituency has admitted to being part according to NDC Regional Secretary Raymond Tandoh.
