The National Service Secretariat (NSS) has released the postings of 9,018 nurses for the 2019/2020 service year to various health facilities across the country.
To this end, all nurses who registered for National Service are to log onto the NSS website – www.nss.gov.gh – to check their placements and proceed to the various registration centres across the country to complete the registration processes.
The procedure for registration and validation is as follows:
The candidate will visit the NSS website at www.portal.nss.gov.gh, where they will click on check postings, where they will sign in and print a copy of the appointment letter. They will then proceed to the user agency (health facility) to which they have been posted for the endorsement of the appointment letter by the human resource manager with an official stamp.
After the endorsement, the nurse is required to visit the NSS website to schedule an appointment indicating the date and time for regional validation and acceptance.
Service personnel who have been accepted by the user agency and have had their appointment booked should then proceed to the NSS Regional Zonal Registration Centre for validation and registration to obtain their Regional Acceptance Number (RAN).
After registration, the prospective NSS person should print a new copy of the appointment letter, which has the RAN, of which they will make three photocopies. They will then submit a copy to the user agency and keep one.
The registration and validation processes start from April 4, 2019 while the service year begins on April 8, 2019.
