Founder and Leader of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has said God put him out of the 2016 election to prepare him to take over power from John Dramani Mahama in 2020.
“We think the President is doing well, extremely well for Ghana. Even though we want to take it away from him but you see because I am the best candidate, God has put me away so that I can take it away from him in 2020.”
Hassan Ayariga who declared his support for the NDC at a press conference in Accra, Monday, said he is the only person competent enough and better to take over from President John Dramani Mahama whose achievement cannot be rivaled.
The APC leader disclosed that two Political Parties including the CPP, NDC, and an Independent candidate, Jacob Osei Yeboah approached the APC but after several considerations, the APC decided to support the NDC.
“Three parties endorsed us but after critical observation, one will ask why we endorsed Mahama. The APC has a Manifesto and we have a vision. We are a party that believes in liberal principles and liberal principles allow you to work with capitalism at the same time work with socialism. But looking at the two parties that approached us, we think the President is doing well for Ghana.”
Ayariga’s APC was disqualified from contesting in the 2016 elections when the after been given a second opportunity to correct errors on its nomination forms failed to do so.
